A couple months ago, I decided that I wanted to do something daily for my website. Looking out across the great expanse of the web, I saw that there were already more weblogs and journals than I could shake a stick at, so I got a little discouraged.

It wore off quickly and I thought about a way that I could do something that was different enough that it could at least partially stand out from what was already out there, as well as being something that I still wanted to do. What I came up with was this section.

The premise is really simple. Every day, I'm going to write about the most vivid sensory experience that I have over the course of each 24 hours of my life. Some days I might have something that commands all of my senses, while on other days only one of my senses will be affected in a big enough way to write about (I've even provided handy little icons for visuals).

The theory behind it all is that over the course of the day, there are so many different stimuli on my body that by the time I go to sleep, everything besides my thoughts end up as a giant blur (and most of the time those do as well). This section is therefore going to become a document of those smaller, beautiful and interesting things that might normally get forgotten as days progress and I have new experiences.

This is a new idea for me and a definite work in progress, so if you have any suggestions, comments, or anything else you'd like to say, please feel free to e-mail me.
