This disc has been out since some time last year, but I just finally got around to picking it up. I must say that I'm not dissapointed in the least by it. There are nine tracks on the disc, as well as two unlisted ones contained in track 10. One of them is a remix of the already sultry song "Cottonwool." The group is similar to trip-hop artists such as The Sneaker Pimps, Morcheeba, and Hooverphonic, except they throw a few more experitmental sounds into their mix. On some songs, there is a touch of drum and bass, they delve into hip-hop on one, and another song uses only very stark stringed instrumentation as a backdrop. At first listen, some of the beats sound really disconcerting juxtaposed with the delicate vocals, but after awhile it sinks in how well they work together.
It is this daring-ness to go outside the normal boundaries that makes this album by Lamb much more interesting than a lot of other music like it on the market. With a sultry voice and a great mix of electronic and other instrumentation, Lamb makes me want to put the disc on repeat, find someone I'm interested in, break out the chocolate syrup, and stay in bed for the next 12 hours (or some variation thereof).
