The first time I wear shorts to work and instead of being hot like normal, the building temperature had somehow dropped 20 degrees. At least I had a cardigan handy.

We sat out in the sun and talked about everything from politics to relationships (which sometimes overlap) and surprisingly personal admissions sometimes came out, but it was natural and friendly and fun. Relaxing and conversing on a day off is what it's all about.

There's a tiny spot on my upper arm and the top of my left thigh where I got slightly burnt in the sun today. Did I mention I biked 52 miles while this happened?

It looked like meat and smelled like meat and even tasted like meat. It was barbeque tofu, though, and it was damn tasty.

The last time we had over an inch of precipitation here was November. When it rained off and on nearly all of today, I could swear that everything smelled different when I came outside from work.

"What do you have so many CDs for?"

"Well, I have a lot of different moods, and I like music to go with each different one."

"You mean to tell me that you have 800 different moods?"

"No, actually I probably have about 2000 different moods, that's why I'm always getting new things."

It was entirely too hot at work today. The air circulation in the building was working poorly and I ended up putting a fan on my desk, right next to my monitor so it would blow in my face all afternoon.

Trying to put my tire back on my bike tonight after fixing a flat, I slipped and raked the tire tool across one of my fingers. It didn't break the skin, but I have a large red mark and some pain where it hit me.

The sun was a flourescent pink glowing orb that shone through after the small storm had passed tonight. My friend and I were stuck in a traffic jam and watched as it creeped down behind the horizon line.

Riding a bike at 38 miles per hour an interesting feeling. It's not really any different than going that fast on a motorcycle, except you have the added bonus of knowing that it's your energy (rather than gasoline) fueling it.

On the way to the store in the dark tonight, a shiny glint of metal caught my eye and I bent over to examine closer. It was a penny, and I put it in my back pocket and continued walking. When the total was rang up on the cash register for my items, I had exact change due to that very same penny I'd picked up only moments earlier. A quirky end to sort of an otherwise blase' day.

I had a pre-interview (whatever that means) for a job today. All I know is that some of the questions asked seemed somewhat strange at the time and they were delivered fairly rapid-fire, keeping me kind of nervous and on edge no matter what I did to calm myself. Looking back, I felt like I answered them pretty well for the most part, but I also feel like there were places I stumbled.

I heard someone say "Happy May Day" at work today and I had to look at the calendar just to make sure. When I was a kid, I remember taking little baskets of candy around and putting them on girls doorsteps. The tradition was then to run, because if the girl caught you, she would kiss you. I was always a fairly speedy kid, though, and I never got caught.

I think I'd know to run slower now.
